Additional Property Attributes

The three story apartment building of eight residential units constructed in 1940 is believed to be a potential source of Asbestors Containing Material ACM. Two RCRA hazardous waste generators are found within 0.25 mile radius of the site, it has not a significant environmental issue, but only indicate that hazardous waste activities are conducted in the area. Also 14 LUST facilities were identified within 0.5 miles of the site and some of them are closed while a few are still open. While the closed LUST incident facilities are not likely to present an environmental concern, the open LUST incident facilities located topographically cross-gradient or down gradient are likely to represent a potential source of environmental concern.

Former Use: The 107 Wayne place property is located at 107 Wayne Place, S.E., Washington DC and about 1,500 feet east of the Interstate 295 and 2,000 feet east of Bolling Air Force Base and is situated within a mixed residential area of the Congress Heights neighborhood of S.E. Washington DC. The site comprises approximately 9,758 sq ft of land and is improved with an approximately 5,800 sq ft , three story apartment building and landscape areas in outlying areas and the building is subdivided into eight residential units and currently occupied. Historical areal photographs dated as far back as 1957 showed the site to be occupied by the existing building and associated grounds. The site owner was not available for interviews at the time of the Phase 1 investigations, therefore no historical information was obtained from this source. Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps reviewed showed the site to be improved with the existing apartment building. None of the maps showed the site to be occupied by gasoline stations, dry cleaners, medical or dental offices or other industrial/manufacturing operations.
