Additional Property Attributes

This site was said to be a former Olympia Bakery prior to 1988 but is a current trash removal and recyling facility. Sources from literature review and facility manager noted that a 1000 gallon UST was abadoned in the property in the 1990 and currently maintains four ASTs containing diesel fuel used as a power source for the facility's conveyer belt system. Chemical usage,abandoned automobiles and abandoned empty used cans and drums,catchment basin filled with water and petroluem product located at the south of the facility and the age of the building has been noted as a potential source of Asbestors Containing Material ACM which is identified as a Recognized Environmental Condition REC.

Former Use: The site is owned by the 1915 New York Ave LP,c/o Mr. Gerald Schaeffer and was a former Olympia Bakery prior to 1988 but currently occupied by James L. Taylor Trash Removal and Recyle Contractor, Inc and used as a bulk trash recycling facility. According to Mr. Taylor, the recyling facility has occupied the premises since 1988 and consist of a one story building and asphalt paved and concrete packing areas and driveways which was built in 1960. A 1000 gallon UST was abadoned in the property in the 1990 and currently maintains four ASTs containing diesel fuel used as a power source for the facility's conveyer belt system. EDR report indicates that the site is included on the D.C. LUST and registered UST environmental databases under the name of Olympia Bakery but the LUST case has been closed by the DC Dept of the Environment. Chemical usage,abandoned automobiles and abandoned empty used cans and drums,catchment basin filled with water and petroluem product located at the south of the facility and the age of the building has been identified as a potential source of ACM.
