Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The 8.2 acre site is owned by the White Pine County School District and is comprised of 5 parcels. Four parcels are vacant and show no history of prior development, one parcel of approximate size 2.2 acres is the location of the former Ruth Elementary school constructed circa 1959. The school is a single story structure. An expanded Phase I ESA performed by McGinley and Associates under contract to NDEP's 128a Brownfields program included sampling of building materials for ACMs and LBP. ACMs and mold were identified as RECs, but the mold was not investigated due to the school district's stated intent to demolish the building. LBP was not detected in the investigation. Following the expanded Phase I, NDEP approved McGinley and Associates to develop technical specifications to abate the vacant building and an asbestos abatement was performed in May 2011. The school district plans to demolish the school and sell the land for redevelopment.
