Additional Property Attributes

KDHE conducted a Phase I Brownfields Targeted Assessment BTA at the former Smoky Hill Army Airbase property in Salina, Saline County, KS. The BTA was conducted for Salina Airport Authority to evaluate a property with unknown environmental conditions. Utilizing the Brownfields Program, the City hopes to encourage a new long term tenant on the property. Three RECs were identified: use of pesticides and herbicide, located in an Operable Unit of Shilling AFB, and proximal location to AIO 07 of Schilling AFB.

Former Use: US Army, Air Force, and Department of Defense until transfer to Salina Airport Authority
