Property Highlights

The old Weathersfield Elementary School in Perkinsville on Route 106 has been cleared of asbestos. The original school was constructed in 1879. Additions from the 1950s and 1960s will eventually be torn down. The Eagle Times reported that on Town Meeting Day in March, Weathersfield voters approved an article to borrow up to $225,000 to remove any hazardous materials in the building and demolish the undesired additions while saving the 1879-built schoolhouse.

Former Use: The site is located at 1862 Route 106 in Perkinsville, Vermont. There is a school building onsite that was constructed in three stages, 1879, 1954, and 1969. Additionally, the school house is surrounded by approximately 6 acres of fields, which are used for recreational purposes. Since 1879, the property and building has been used as a schoolhouse; however, the building has been abandoned since 2008.
