Site is located within the boundaries of the EPA funded City of Atlanta Area-Wide project study area. It is one of 14 sites provided by local residents through a community nomination process as part of the December 2011 Public Outreach Workshop. The property is not currently owned by the City of Atlanta nor does the city currently have plans to acquire the site at this time.The former ESB, Inc. (aka Exide Co. and Exide Corporation, Inc.), addressed as 1214 and 1246 Allene Avenue, appears on the SHWS, CERCLIS, RCRA-CESQG, ICIS and FINDS lists as having soil contamination of lead. Investigations are ongoing to determine how much cleanup is necessary for source materials, soil and groundwater.

Former Use: The property was used by Exide Co. for battery manufacturing from 1948 to at least 1978. The listed site has been environmentally assessed from 1984 to the present.
