Additional Property Attributes

The subject property includes the abandoned water treatment plant previously used by the St. Augustine Mission. Currently, the subject property is occupied by the existing cinder block water treatment plant building. The Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska owns the subject property building. Building contains abandonded tanks associated with former use and two old drums of sodium hypochlorite (bleach). Concern about backflush wastes discharged to local ravine may have contained elevated metals. Concern about lead-based paint and asbestos containing materials.

Former Use: The property was developed as a water treatment facility in about 1960. It was used until 1990 when the area was connected to city water. Property has been abandoned since.
