This site was originally owned by the Capital Records Records Management Corporation and was identified as 475 - 485 Valley Street, Assessors Plat 27, Lot 263. In November 2012 WaterFire Providence purchased the property and subdivided it into 3 lots, now identified as 475, 485 and 495 Valley Street, Lots 289, 290 and 291 respectively.

Former Use: The site was initially developed some time prior to the 1870s and has been used for industrial purposes throughout its history. Primary industrial uses included locomotive manufacturing machine shop heavy machinery production and repair and records warehousing. The present-day site building was constructed in approximately 1930 and is currently vacant. The site was initially one lot, lot 263, but in November 2012 was subdivided into 3 lots with 3 different addresses. This lot consists of only the building.
