Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The site consists of approximately 60 acres of undeveloped land and is zoned as a playground and residential vacant land, known as "The Hollow". The site consists of steep ridges on either side of Quackenderry Creek, a tributary to the Hudson River. The Hudson River is located approximately one-half mile west of the site. An 11 acre section of the site was used as a rifle range from approximately 1894 to 1938. A concrete bunker in the former rifle range remains on the property. A Phase I ESA was conducted on the property in 2011 and recognized environmental conditions (RECs) at the site included; the use of the property as a small-arms firing range for almost 50 years; Newhall Chain and Forge and Iron Company; a former machine shop with 2 garages; an automobile repair shop; and, solid waste along the western embankment of the site.
