Additional Property Attributes

The past uses of the Site dating back to 1922 has consisted of residential uses to a vacant lot in 1949 to when it was developed with the existing Site building and alsphalt-paved parking in the 1080s. Apart from the current and historical use of the northern adjacent property as a salvage yard since at least 1964, no other environmental concerns related to the historical use of the Site or properties in the immediate vicinity were identified. The Site is listed on the UST and LUST database, but no evedence of current USTs or ASTs were observed in the vicinity of the property at the time of the Site reconnaissance.

Former Use: The Site is located southwest of the intersection of 1st Street SW and S Street SW and is described as CR (residential,commercial, recreational and light industrial). It is characterized as a warehouse building and asphalt paved parking and is situated in an area characterized by industrial use. The Site is bordered to the north by S Street followed by a warehouse and salvage yard; to the east by 1st Street SW followed by a PEPCO transfer station; to the south by T Street SW followed by asphalt-paved parking; and to the west by 2nd Street SW followed by the National Defence University. The past uses of the Site as determined by a review of reaonably ascertainable historical information dating back to 1922 has conssited of residential uses from at least 1922 to approximately 1949. From 1949 to approximately 1980, the Site consisted of vacant land. In approximately 1980, it was developed with the existing Site building and asphalt-paved parking and has remained unchanged since then. The current owner of the SIte is the SW Land Holder LLC.
