Additional Property Attributes

Property highlights include the following: Two warehouses (15,000-square-foot and a 10,350-square-foot, both mainly built of steel and sheet metal), a large concrete slab where two former structures were removed or demolished, a bermed tank farm near the soutwest corner of the site contains 12 Aboveground Storage Tanks (AST) with diameters between 13 and 35 feet; A large firewater AST with a 50-foot diameter is located at the souteast corner of the site; and a large surface impoundment with dimensions of 250 feet by 115 feet, previously used for wastewater impoundment was closed and backfilled between 1983 and 1995. The central portion and southeast corner of the site are covered with process equipment and piping, much of which is stainless steel.

Former Use: Prior to 1971 the site was used for agricultural purposes. In 1972, the site was developed and during the 1970s the plant produced 1-butanol and other alcohols, i.e. iso-butanol and 2-ethylhexanol from Naphtha and hydrocarbons in a catalytic cracking and fractionating process. The products, by-products and chemical compounds used in the manufacturing process were stored in Aboveground Storage Tanks (AST).
