Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The site was occupied by Interstate 195 from circa 1950 to 2010. Prior to construction of the interstate, the site was occupied by multiple individual parcels used for residential, commercial, and industrial purposes. Historical commercial and industrial activities at the site included metals manufacturers, manufactured gas plants, gasoline stations, bulk fuel terminals, and wharves. The 195-District Redevelopment Commission purchased the site from the RI Dept. of Transportation in 2013 for the purpose of facilitating redevelopment of the site for a combination of residential, recreational, commercial, and institutional uses.
