Additional Property Attributes

City of Mullan is in process of rebuilding streets. YTG property owner is installing new sidewalk, curbs and gutters to storm water system while maintaining the ICP barriers. Plans are to begin building in summer of 2017.

Former Use: The Yellowstone Trail Garage (Property) is a former gas station located at 537 River Street in Mullan, Idaho. The Property is located adjacent to the historic Yellowstone Trail, which became U.S. Highway 10 in 1926. During the mid-1950s, the Property underwent a transition from a gas station to an auto repair facility when Wendell Dinius, Jr. purchased the Property. Dinius operated the auto repair facility into the early 1980s. The historical information was provided by Mrs.Florence Dinius, widow of Wendell Dinius, Jr., during a site assessment interview conducted by Steve Gill, IDEQ. The Property is approximately 0.19 acres in size. Shoshone County acquired the property through a tax deed from the estate of James Dinius and recently sold the property to Leroy Wheeler. The property is currently vacant and all the structures have been removed. The Property is located within the Bunker Hill Mining and Metallurgical Complex Superfund Site (BHSS, Compensation and Liability Information System [CERCLIS] number IDD048340921). It has been sampled for lead and arsenic and was remediated under IDEQ?s Basin Property Remediation Program (BPRP). Shoshone County Commissioners requested that IDEQ complete a limited Phase II site characterization on the Property to determine if there are levels of heavy metals and/or petroleum constituents present that would limit the potential future redevelopment.
