Additional Property Attributes

Site will be demolished and used as a parking lot for the Edgecombe Community College and the new Rocky Mount Event Center

Former Use: The property consists of approximately 0.47 acres and is developed with a vacant former dry cleaning facility. A residence was located on the subject site from prior to 1901 until the late 1920s. A bowling alley operated on the subject site during the early to mid-1930s. In the late 1930s, a gasoline station and a dry-cleaning facility (Quality Laundry and Cleaners) began operation on the subject site. The gasoline station operated until the late 1960s or early 1970s, and the dry-cleaning facility operated until 2005. Between 2005 and December 2012, a laundry business (no dry-cleaning) leased the subject site. The property has been owned by several entities in the past.
