Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: Historically, the Property was developed as early as 1892 with residential dwellings located along the valley of a stream known as Kingsbury Run. By 1913, a significant portion of the ravine had been filled in with mostly industrial waste (e.g., foundry sand and refractory waste) and Kingsbury Run was partially culverted. Between 1970 and 1977, the residential dwellings were razed. By the 1950s, portions of the land surrounding the ravine were utilized as a salvage yard by a west adjoining scrap yard operator. The scrap yard had started as a second-hand lumber facility in operation from at least 1923 to the 1950s, when it became a scrap yard. Scrap yard operations expanded to include auto towing/wrecking in 1981 and then expanded across the Property through the 2000s. The use of the Property as a scrap yard resulted in the edge of the ravine being filled with scrap materials, solid waste, tires, and demolition debris.
