Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The subject property consists of one parcel of land measuring approximately 0.09 acres and located in the Northeast of the Southeast Section 27, Township 56 North, Range 84 West, in the City of Sheridan, Sheridan County, Wyoming. There is no known current address associated with this parcel. The subject property is currently being used as a parking lot for a hair salon and a Charter Communications building. The subject property may have been part of a gas station that was present on the adjoining property to the north. The subject property was most likely used as an alley way and parking area in the past as well. Sanborn maps indicate the subject property may have once been a part of the former filling station property to the north. However, there is no evidence that any storage tanks were present on the subject property. Adjoining or nearby properties to the north, southwest, and northwest all formerly operated, at one point in their history, as filling stations with underground storage tanks. The adjoining site to the north is an inactive orphan site listed on the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) orphan site list. The historic use of adjoining properties as automotive filling stations or repair shops with underground storage tanks is a REC. The adjoining north property was also used for clothing cleaning circa 1912 and likely used petroleum-based solvents. Although no filling operations appeared to have occurred on the subject property, any release that may have occurred from these adjoining properties has the potential to impact the subject property. A Phase II Site Assessments was never initiated at this site. It is not in the Voluntary Remediation Program (VRP).
