Additional Property Attributes

This site was considered for the development of very low income housing. It is located next to a known landfill. Assessments were done on an entire parcel, just over 5 acres. This tract of the land is known as "Centre Plaza" and is about 3.19 acres. The other parcel of land, as part of the 5 acres, is the House Builders Association parcel. They share the same address because they are vacant land. The Brinkley-Anderson closed municipal solid waste landfill is known to exist on properties adjoining the subject property to the north and west, with the approximate landfill boundary adjoining the subject property on its north and west sides. Most of the subject property is mapped within a 500-foot buffer extending around the approximate landfill boundary. There is landfill materials on the subject property. The leachate from the landfill is impacting the groundwater at the site; and the property has vapor intrusion issues from benzene in the landfill leachate and methane from the landfill. As of June 2017, the buyer could not afford the clean up to make the property affordable.

Former Use: The property has been undeveloped but it appears at some point was used as an unofficial landfill.
