Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: According to information from the Pickens County Tax Assessors website, the approximate 2.3-acre site consists of one parcel comprising 211, 221 and 233 East Main Street in Central, Pickens County, South Carolina. The site is currently improved with a vacant concrete mixing plant including three buildings used as an office, warehouse and storage facility, several relic features associated with past concrete mixing operations, and paved access drives and parking areas. According to a review of historical information, the site has been developed since as early as 1947 with an apparent commercial building in the western portion of the site, the current storage building, Section C of the current warehouse building, and paved access drives and parking areas. Additional development of the site included the construction of the current office/sales building, a concrete silo, and the current concrete mixing platform in the 1950s. Also at that time, one of the buildings in the western portion of the site was no longer present. Additional sections of the warehouse (Sections A, B and D) were constructed between the 1950s and the 1970s. By 2015, the storage building, the office/sales building, the warehouse, and the concrete mixing platform were observed, and the concrete silo was no longer present.
