Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: Standard and other historical sources were able to document that the property was developed as a coal strip mine and operated between fall 1991 and June 1993, on previously vacant wooded land. The mine was identified as Sugar Ridge Coal Mine. According to Mr. Tim Slone, representative of Innovative Reclamation Technologies & Engineering Company (IRTEC), there were no buildings located on the property associated with the mining activities. Additionally, Mr. Slone indicated that a fueling truck was brought to the property to fuel the equipment on an as needed basis. When the mining activities ceased the mine was backfilled with sandstone and shale. The backfill material (sandstone and shale) originated from the subject property and extends to approximately 30 feet deep. The property has been vacant of operations since the closure of the mine in June of 1993.
