This site was in DEQ's Brownfields Certificate Program briefly and DEQ's oversight costs were waived for the project and 128a grant was used. While in the Brownfields program the site was characterized. No cleanup is necessary at this site. The BIA ended up switching the site to the Voluntary Cleanup Program, because they did not want a deed notice or Brownfield Certificate placed on the property. The Choctaw Nation is trying to get this property into tribal trust. During an environmental investigation, one well was found to have benzene. The well was resampled recently and no benzene was found. Therefore, no cleanup is needed.
