Additional Property Attributes

On April 18th and 19th, 2018, NewFields Companies, LLC performed a survey for asbestos, leadbased paint, polychlorinated biphenyls in light ballasts, and mercury in fluorescent light tubes and thermostats at the Poplar Pool Site, located at 400 Court Avenue in Poplar, Montana,. The property is situated in central Poplar and is on the south side of US Route 2. This property is a community outdoor pool facility that is currently closed and in poor condition. The survey was completed under contract to Fort Peck Assiniboine & Sioux Tribes using United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 128(a) Tribal Response Program Funds. Fort Peck Assiniboine & Sioux Tribes would like to demolish the Poplar Pool Site structures in order to construct a new Splash Park in 2018. Three structures were assessed, including the pool, pool building, and white shed. A total of eleven building materials, generally considered suspect for containing asbestos, where sampled and submitted for asbestos analysis. The laboratory determined that all building materials were negative for asbestos.
