Property Highlights

The property, currently owned by the City of Huttig, contains five main buildings, the former high school building, former elementary school building, former cafetorium building, old gymnasium, and new gymnasium. The campus was constructed in 1974 and has been unused since 2008 when it closed due to consolidation, and has become dilapidated due to lack of upkeep, vandalism, and weather. Southwest Arkansas Planning and Development District (SWAPDD) requested the TBA. The Phase I ESA identified no recognized environmental conditions; however, asbestos containing materials were identified during the asbestos survey. SWAPDD planned on redeveloping the old gym and cafeterial buildings and demolish the rest. Redevelopment status is currently unknown.
