Additional Property Attributes

The Property is comprised of four contiguous parcels totaling approximately 0.4 acres and is located on the northeastern quarter of one city block bound by 4th Avenue North, 8th Street North, 7th Street North, and 3rd Avenue North. The City currently owns the Property. The City of Fargo acquired the 314 7th Street North parcel in 2012 from Donald Brown, the 320 7th Street North parcel in 2002 from Beverage Wholesalers Inc., the 324 7th Street North parcel in 1998 from The Lighthouse of Fargo-Moorhead Inc., and the 712 4th Avenue North parcel in 2012 from 720 LLP. By 1888, numerous residential structures occupied the Property. The residential structures remained on the Property until the late 1960s or early 1970s. The 1916 and 1922 Sanborn maps also depict a "fuel house" structure on the western portion of the 320 7th Street North parcel. Additional information regarding the building and fuel storage operations were not identified. From at least 1929 through the mid-1960s these structures were identified as automobile garages. From the early 1970s to the 2000s, the previously residential structures on the 324 7th Street North parcel were used as an office by various government services agencies. By 2014 all structures had been removed from the Property and the Property is currently an asphalt parking lot and vacant grass areas. The City plans to redevelop the Property as part of general downtown redevelopment; however, the specific use is uncertain due to the potential contamination on the Property.
