Additional Property Attributes

This site is a 3.23-mile segment of former CSX Transportation railway is located within Great Falls and/or Chester County, South Carolina. This segment begins near the intersection of Republic Street and Farrow Road in Great Falls. From this the Site runs to the north though a largely cleared/undeveloped section, along the western bank of Great Falls Lake (Figure 2B). The Site then runs through a residential area of Great Falls (former mill village) along Seaboard St. (Figure 2C), crosses Center St., and continues through another section of undeveloped/cleared land (Figures 2D & 2E). The Site then passes beneath the US Highway 21 bridge and continues through an undeveloped/cleared area until terminating at its former crossing at Fishing Creek (Figure 2F). The entirety of the former rails and rail ties have been removed throughout the Site; thus it is currently vacant. The Town of Great Falls acquired the property from CSX to develop it into a recreational trail.
