Additional Property Attributes

The property is currently vacant but historically served as a bank building with a second-floor apartment. Several historic auto repair shops and fuel stations with underground storage tanks were identified upgradient and within close proximity to the property. A Phase II Environmental Site Assessment is recommended to assess if underlying groundwater and soil vapors are impacting the property. Asbestos was identified in four samples collected from 501 Main Street. The asbestos was identified in gray linoleum flooring collected from the east kitchen, floor tile in the back kitchen, floor tile from the back bathroom, and floor tile in the master bathroom. Asbestos was identified in two samples collected from 503 Main Street. Asbestos was identified in the floor tile in the hallway and in joint compound from the west wall. If future renovations will disturb the asbestos-containing materials (ACM), all ACM should be properly removed and disposed of to prevent a release of asbestos fibers. Lead-based paint (LBP) was identified on the radiator in 501 Main and the southwest wall in 503 Main. If future renovations will damage LBP surfaces, all LBP should be properly abated or encapsulated.
