Additional Property Attributes

The site is located at 400 Martin Marietta Drive, Americus, Sumter County, Georgia. The site tax parcel number is 75-22 and the Acres ID number is 251411. The site is approximately 38 acres and includes a 63,000 square foot concrete warehouse building. According to the Sumter County Tax Assessor, the only listed owner for the site is Americus & Sumter County PDA. The structure onsite was built in 2001 and, according to the client, has never been occupied. The site is currently unoccupied.

In the earliest historical aerial image reviewed (1937), the site appears to consist of vacant land. The site remains relatively unchanged in the 1942, 1951, 1962, 1972, 1982, 1988, 1993, and 1999 historical aerial images. In the 2007 aerial image, the structure in the northeast area of the property appears. According to the Sumter County Tax Assessor, the structure was built in 2001. In the 2017 aerial image, a fenced in area with a small trailer can be seen in the middle area of the site off Martin Marietta Street. This trailer and area appear to be a Department of Transportation project office and is shown in the 2016, 2018, and 2019 Google Earth aerial images. The fence and trailer were no longer onsite during site reconnaissance. The site remains relatively unchanged in the recent aerial photographs.

At the time of site reconnaissance, a large, concrete building with open garage-size doors was observed in the northwest area of the site. The northeast areas of the site consisted of wooded land. The southeast area of the site consisted of an open field and wooded land to the west. Martin Marietta Street was observed coming from the west area of the site and ending in a cul-de-sac towards the center of the site.

The Phase I ESA did not identify any RECs associated with the site; therefore, no additional investigation is deemed necessary at this time. The site is expected to continue to be an industrial or manufacturing facility.
