Additional Property Attributes

The site was mined for sand sometime during the 1960s. A concrete manufacturing facility operated at the site simultaneously until the late 1970s. The site was then used for livestock grazing and recreation until the present. Historically this riverfront area was used for dumping. A fish advisory was suggested due to possible elevated PCBs present in fish flesh. The quantity or location of possible dumping at the site is unknown. Several piles of household debris, used tires and scrap metal are currently present. Small piles of distubred earth are located on the north side of the site. It is possible these piles are associated with dumping. Several pipeline easements traverse the site. Sample activities are currently pending. (PPF - 9/18/2006). Redevelopment has occurred on a portion of the property. The lake closest to NE 10th Street has been converted into the Wake Zone Cable Park. The remainder of the property is undeveloped except for the local church and private residences that have been onsite for many years.
