Additional Property Attributes

The City of Cranston requested TBA funding to assist in the evaluation of properties located along the Pawtuxet River that will be acquired by the City for development as a public river walk and park area. The City is aware of periodic dumping of solid waste (yard waste, tires etc.), but has not investigated potential releases at the property to date. Adjacent properties include the Park View Recreational Facility TBA property, Atlantic Tubing, Ciba-Geigy, Bellefont Pond-Ciba Geigy, Chem-Pak Corporation and several underground storage tank and RCRA properties (PPF - Pawtuxet River Park, 9/25/06).

Former Use: The topography of the property is generally flat and slopes down gradually to the south, toward the Pawtuxet River. Evidence of solid waste dumping was observed throughout various locations on the subject property. Potential contaminants include: corrosive materials, chlorinated and non-chlorinated solvents, petroleum, waste oils containing PCBs, semi-volatile organic compounds and heavy metals.
