Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: UST Permit #11671. Randy's Auto Parts was operated as a gas station and retail auto parts supplier. The UST system was owned by Travel Mart Inc. Travel Mart declared Chapter 7 bankruptcy that was discharged by the courts in AUgust 2004. The bankruptcy court did not address ownership of the UST system. The property owner agreed to permanently close the UST system. In return, the UST program agreed to perform the environmental assessment. The USTs were removed from the ground in April 2006. The assessment report received in July 2006 indicated that soil and groundwater in the vicinity of the UST system had been impacted by petroleum. Additional assessment is required and will be funded with South Carolina state funds. Based on the assessment at Randy's Auto Parts and at a nearby facility, it is believed that the petroleum contamination from Randy's Auto Parts is imapcting the nearby facility.
