Additional Property Attributes

U.S. EPA BRLF monies utilized for asbestos abatement. Cuyahoga County Brownfield Redevelopment Fund (BRF) monies will be utilized for demo of abated hospital building and additional cleanup funding. A local bicycling group constructed a velodrome on site. It is our understanding that the materials and labor were donated.

Former Use: The property is occupied by the former St. Michael Hospital, which was donated to the City of Cleveland by University Hospital Health Systems, in January 2004. A Phase I ESA, in accordance with ASTM E 1527-00, was completed in October 2003 prior to the City's acquisition. An Asbestos Survey was completed of the former hospital in August 2005, with an asbestos abatement plan and the associated abatement specifications prepared in December 2005. The BRLF monies will be utilized for the asbestos abatement. The asbestos abatement began in November 2006.
