The Phase I report refererences the Majestic Motors portion of the property, which has been utilized as an automobile salvage yard since 1979 under three separate owners. Approximately 500 vehicles are stored onsite prior to crushing and ultimate removal and disposal. The property is improved with a one-story recovery garage containing an office and storage space. The property is located in a neighborhood containing a mix of single-family, multi-family, and commercial developments. NH Gasoline Remediation and Elimination of Ethers (GREE) Funds were made available to locate and remove a underground storage tank of unknown type referred to in one of the Phase I reference documents. As of this date, field investiagations to locate the tank were performed in April with the final report to be issued in August. No additional tanks were found on the property. In addition, GREE funds are also being used to install five additional bedrock groundwater monitoring wells on the property, to monitor primarily for MTBE. To date, approximately 36,000 of field investigation work has been spent, with another estimated 200,000 to be spent over the next five years in monitoring costs.
