Additional Property Attributes

A portion (100 feet) of the Pueblo Railroad ROW property is expected to continue use as an access road while the reminder of the property is expected to be transferred to the developer of the new downtown hotel. (PPF - Pueblo Railroad ROW, 10/26/06)

Former Use: The Pueblo Railroad ROW property is adjacent to 121 170 River Street property that is being acquired for development of a new downtown hotel that will be along Santa Fe Avenue immediately east of the Pueblo Convention Center. The ROW property was utilized as a downtown pass through spur for the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe railroad that provided pickup and delivery of goods for downtown businesses, lumber yards and other manufacturing businesses. The Sanborn Fire Map 1893 shows the railroad line in place. Ariel photography from 1978 shows that the railroad tracks had been removed, thus indicating that the property has not been used for railroad transportation for approximately 27 years, but as an access road The access road served the private property located southeast of the property as well as a city police training facility. (PPF - Pueblo Railroad ROW, 10/26/06)
