Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The site consists of an approximate two-acre trapezoidal-shaped lot, located in downtown, Athol, approximately 500 feet west of the intersection of School Street and Main Street. The site is developed with one two-story school building approximately 43,560 square feet in size, constructed in approximately 1892. The site building was historically utilized as a high school until the mid-1970s, at which time it was converted to a junior high shool. In 2003, the building was vacated. The building is of brick construction and has a flat tar-and-gravel roof. The balance of the site consists of both paved and vegetated areas. The site is accessible via two paved entrances off of School Street. According to the Town of Athol Assessor's Office, the site is currently owned by the Town of Athol.
