Additional Property Attributes

Site is along Columbia River Highway in downtown Clatskanie and is very visible. It has long been a town eyesore and known problem and the community is very excited that work has occurred to begin to bring this site back to productive use. Columbia County is planning on using the site as a terminal for their new county public transportation system. DEQ is working with the county to identify remedial needs and resources for a sustainable redevelopment.

Former Use: This site was a former gas and service station from about 1957 to 1997. Site was originally owned by Helen and Walter Reitman who leased the site to Standard Oil from about 1957 to 1977. In 1987 the site was sold on a contract to Johnson Oil Company. Columbia County foreclosed on the property in October 2007.
