Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: According to historical fire insurance maps and record of ownership, it appears that the property has been used for industrial purposes since 1887. The Muncie Heat and Light Company occupied the site in 1896, and the Kiser Corporation began plating operations at the property prior to 1911 and remained on site until 1999. A fire in 2001 destroyed all but one building at the Site. It appears as though the Site has been vacant since at least 2001. Plating equipment structures, such as concrete plating bath vaults and a furnace, are still present inside the building. A large amount of debris is present inside the current building, including but not limited to drums and other oil containers, demolition debris and general refuse.
