Additional Property Attributes

The property at 5615 NW 2 Ave is now a 9 story 80 unit workforce housing development. The site was formerly an abandoned gas station (Unico Gas Station) that was left vacant and contributed to blight along a commercial corridor within the EPA Little Haiti Brownfield Area-Wide Assessment zone. The contamination present at the site complicated investment for re-use. Petroleum hydrocarbon contamination remained on site since discovered in the late 90's during underground storage tank removal activities. Carlisle Development Group previously reached out to the City of Miami in regards to the willingness to develop in this area of Little Haiti if assessment grant funds could be used to accurately characterize contaminated sites. As a result of the partnership, the vacant and contaminated eyesore now provides brand new affordable housing to low income and working class families; eliminated human health hazards at this site, and beautified the area.
