Additional Property Attributes

The City of Rolla has redevelopment plans for the property in the form of a new industrial/business park, a new flight control tower and other improvements to the airport. The results of the Phase II assessment will be used to prompt cleanup by the US Corps of Engineering prior to redevelopment. The Phase II assessment eliminated any unknown contaminant.

Former Use: The Department of Defense used the site from 1942 to 1946 as an Army Airfield. The site was transformed to the city of Rolla on December 30, 1957. This site is known as Rolla Airport Industrial & Technology Park. The city has recently invested in upgrading water and sewer infrastructure for the property in support of economic development initiatives. Past site uses include a military(aviation) base in the 1940's and agricultural use since that time. Anticipated future use is an industrial park for light to heavy industry/manufacturing/warehousing. The City is pursuing application to the certified sites program through the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
