Additional Property Attributes

It is recommended that the piles of cast dust be removed and disposed of properly. All friable asbestos should be removed by a licensed asbestos abatement contractor. Non friable asbestos should either be removed or left in place and managed with an operation and mainenance plan. All asbestos should be removed prior to demolition. The lead paint was reported to be in good condition. Therefore, the lead paint should be removed by a licensed lead abatement contractor or left in placed and managed with an operation and maintenance plan.

Former Use: This is a 4 acre site in Clinton that was used as a tool and die machine shop. The site has been used as a tool and die shop. This site is known as the former Alva Allen Industries and is approximately 4 acres. There have been no site improvements and former buildings have been removed, following destruction by fire in June 2010. An asphalt driveway/parking area is located on the eastern portion of the site. Prior to development of the Alva Allen structure, the site was vacant land. The site was purchased by Alva Allen in 1946. In 2008, the site was passed on to Allens surviving children in a trust.
