Additional Property Attributes

This 11 acre property is being assessed and cleaned up in two stages. 4 acres of this former unlawfull, unregistered dumpsite was remediated for lead battery casings which were thought to be deposited in the 1950's. The remaining 7 acres has been assessed and is awaiting cleanup. The entire 11 acre property will contain 126 affordable net zero housing units and a Jeremiah project building with dormitories, childcare and other educational services. Only the four acre portion of the site has obtained closure through the Voluntary Cleanup Program Former Use: At the time of the site reconnaissance conducted for the Phase I ESA,The site s is an unfenced vacant parcel where miscellaneous trash and debris were observed throughout the site. Construction debris consisting of concrete rubble, rebar, asphalt, and large, 2-foot diameter concrete pipes were observed on the site. Miscellaneous debris consisting of used automotive tires and oil filters, empty freon canisters, sheet metal, mattress springs, plastic piping, barbed wire, and household trash were also observed throughout the site. In addition, based on findings of the Phase I ESA, an unregistered landfill was believed to be located across the northeastern portion of the site. This unregistered landfill, referred to as the Webberville-Govalle landfill, was reportedly used to dispose of construction debris associated with the construction of Interstate IH35 (URM, 1984; Geomatrix, 2004). In a supplemental report of landfills in the vicinity of Austin Texas (Geomatrix, 2004), an automobile battery dump area was also identified at the site. The area consisted of exposed automobile battery cases.
