Additional Property Attributes

The BTA was conducted for the City of Garnett to evaluate a property they acquired from the National Guard. A total of 18 of the State's 56 National Guard Armories were targeted by budget cuts to be closed. Garentt's armory was on the list. The proposed reuse will be a recreational facility to host community programs. A Recognized Environmental Condition REC associated with the BTA Property was identified as the following: the historic vehicle maintenance activities conducted on the property. A Phase II was conducted. Petroleum products were not detected in a soil sample. Broundwater was not encountered due to shallow bedrock. The site has been cleared for reuse.

Former Use: National Guard Armory since constructed in the 1950's.
