Additional Property Attributes

The phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment ESA of the susbject property dated August 14, 2006 revealed no evidence of Recognized Environmental Condition REC The site structure, a one story slab one grade building which was reportly built circa 1990 was previously used as office by the District Department of Transportation DDOT. Chain-link fencing sorrounds the central and southern portions of the property, limiting pedestrian access to these portion of the site but access to the northernmost portion of the site is unrestricted.

Former Use: The previous or original owner was listed as DKH Property Consultants but since at least 1903, the Subject Property has been a portion of a larger tract of land owned and operated by the D.C. Governement. The facility was expanded several times until the 1960s when it was significantly renovated and later became part of D.C. Village, a D.C. Department of Human Services facility. The Subject Property remained vacant until the existing structure was built, although the structure was stated to be occupied by Fort Meyers Construction around 1996 to 2005 and in between, the site was used as an administrative facility by the D.C. Department of Transportation, Urban Forestry Administration until 2003. Since 2005, the property has been vacant and has remained vacant with the exception of being used to stage equipment for the proposed asphalt plant.
