Additional Property Attributes

Contaminants found and cleaned up include Coal ash, SVOCs, (benzo(a)pyrene, benzo(a)anthracene, benzo(b)flouranthene, benzo(k)flouranthene, Indeno(1,2,3-c,d)pyrene), arsenic, thallium, aluminum, chromium, iron, vanadium, beryllium, manganese, barium, cadmium, mercury, selenium. Note that the property boundaries include three tracts (B, C-1, C-2) as established in a property survey dated December 17, 1999 and revised February 4, 2000, totaling 32.06 acres. In October 2002, the property was consolidated and separated into two parcels, with the largest portion (29.709 acres) now profiled here.

Former Use: This property is part of a property containing a greige textile mill that was developed in approximately 1896 and operated until approximately 1979. A construction company purchased the property in August 2000, using a portion of the property for construction debris. The southernmost portion of the property (near North Street) has been the location of indiscriminant dumping including construction debris and white goods. In September 2004, the ReGenesis Title Holding Corporation, a community-based, non-profit organization, purchased the property for redevelopment into greenspace and recreational uses. A large amount of coal-ash was found on-site. Private cost share or local match was $64,000 allocated for this property (total demolition costs for both adjacent grant sites was $128,000.)
