Additional Property Attributes

The City of South Tucson completed a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment ESA of the subject property. This assessment did not reveal evidence of any recognized environmental conditions in connection with the subject property.

Former Use: A city directory search revealed that the address assigned to the subject property was first used between 1931 and 1935 by Sonora Fish Company. Sonora Fish Company discontinued operations between 1944 and 1951 and the address assigned to the subject property did not reappear until 1954 however, the addresses 2240 and 2242 S. 6th Avenue may have also been associated with the subject property. Several commercial entities have operated from the addresses associated with the subject property. Between 1958 and 1967, an addition was constructed onto the east side of the existing structure. Between 1972 and 1980, the western portion of the subject property began to be used for storage. Currently, the central portion of the subject property is occupied by an approximately 3,900 square foot structure occupied by a thrift store. The eastern portion of the subject property is accessible from 6th Avenue and is used for parking and the western portion of the subject property is used for storage. The structure currently occupying the subject property was originally constructed in 1941 and was occupied by an upholstery wholesaler prior to becoming a thrift store.
