� Soil and groundwater contamination at the Lakewood Muffler and Brake from historic site usage is considered a Potential REC � Potential upgradient contaminant source areas may have impacted groundwater at the Study Area. These Potential RECs include: Longs Peak Equipment 815 Wadsworth, Celestial Hair Salon 999 Wadsworth, Silver and Gold Exchange 999Wadsworth, and Pine Grove Greenhouse 845 Wadsworth Phase II ESA conclusions - Petroleum contaminated soil exceeded the CDLE-OPS cleanup guidelines near the center of the property. Groundwater sample test results did not indicate the presence of VOCs or dissolved lead concentrations above Colorado groundwater standards. Therefore, petroleum contaminated soil did not appear to be impacting groundwater. The consultant recommended that a materials management plan be used during site development.

Former Use: The Study Area occupies a 12,075 square foot parcel of land at the northeast corner of Wadsworth Boulevard and 10th Avenue in Lakewood, Colorado. The Study Area initially included a muffler and brake repair shop - Lakewood Muffler & Brake, and included a 1630 sq foot one story building. This building was demolished prior to conducting the Phase II study. In December 2013 CDOT prepared a scope of work to excavate and dispose of contaminated soils. The Study Area has been occupied by Lakewood Muffler & Brake since at least 1990. Prior to Lakewood Muffler and Brake, a Go To You Lube shop occupied this space identified in the address search as All-Vs. Between at least 1961 and 1975, the site was a Conoco fueling/service station. Based on the history of the site, contamination from current and or past operations may impact soil and groundwater at the site, which is considered a Potential REC.
