Additional Property Attributes

This parcel was part of the City's efforts to expand the adjacent Lang Carson Park and Recreation Center grounds (3.8 acres). In 2011, City Council authorized up to $230,000 for the acquisition and improvements of the parcel. The City's Brownfield Program was tapped to provide the Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) and a limited Asbestos Survey as part of the City's due diligence in the fall of 2011. The City was towards the end of preparing a master plan (adopted in January 2012) for the park and its expansion. The plan envisioned a $750,000 to $1.3 million renovation of the park. The residential lot and house were vacant at the time but immediately adjacent and across the street, Stein Steel operates a metal foundry. No recognized environmental condition was identified. The BeltLine Eastside Trail recently opened nearby and the recreation center is an important community asset in the rapidly transforming Reynoldstown neighborhood.

Former Use: The property was occupied by a single family residential dwellings since at least the 1950a.
