Additional Property Attributes

In 2011, The Conservation Fund and the City of Atlanta worked together to purchase these vacant wooded properties to connect the City's 77-acre South Bend Park and 18-acre Swann Preserve Park. This property was a significant purchase and improvement to the Preserve at $560,000. As part of the due diligence process, the City's Brownfield Program conducted a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA). Since the 1940s, the site appears to have been predominantly wooded with a few trails associated with logging operations. Logging probably ceased in the early 1970s and the site has remained forested. No recognized environmental conditions (RECs) were identified in relation to the current or past uses of the site. Nearly a half a mile of the Southtowne PATH Trail traverses the properties (this property was part of the 1-mile extension completed in the fall of 2014).

Former Use: Since the 1940s, the site appears to have been predominantly wooded with a few trails associated with logging operations. Logging probably ceased in the early 1970s and the site has remained forested.
