Additional Property Attributes

This property was formerly used as an outdoor firing range. DEQ's Site Cleanup Assistance Program (SCAP), a state funded program, cleaned the site for the Commissioner's of the Land Office. After the firing range berm and contaminated soil was remediated, the site was re-vegetated. The property received a brownfield certificate for no further action necessary. The site was cleaned up to unrestricted residential use.

Former Use: The subject property is located at Township 10N, Range 2E, Section 16, SW � NE � Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma.The subject property is owned by the State of Oklahoma and managed by the Commissioner of the Land Office for Oklahoma Schools, and is occupied by the Shawnee Gun Club.The Shawnee Gun Club was built in 1993. According to information provided by the OLC, the land the gun club is on was granted by an act of congress for benefit of the Oklahoma School Children.The property is currently serving as a shooting range for the Shawnee Gun Club.Currently the areas surrounding the site are rural residential. Depending on the water level in the lake, the west and north sides of the property are surrounded by water from the Shawnee Reservoir. The areas to the south and to the east are rural residential and have only a few houses on them.
