Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The subject property consists of approximately 20 acres of undeveloped land. The property is currently surrounded by US Highway 281, the Southern Plain Bureau of Indian Affairs, County Road 2670, and wooded areas. Access to the property is via an opening in the fence along US Highway 281 that is to the west of the property and through the woods to the east. According to the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes of Oklahoma and the Anadarko Agency. The property being assessed in this Phase I Environmental Site Assessment was allotted to the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma, the Delaware Tribe of Oklahoma, and the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes of Oklahoma (known as the WCD) from the United States Department of Interior. The Wichita and Affiliated Tribes of Oklahoma have determined that an additional set aside of the Restored Lands for each Tribe's individual and exclusive use is necessary to provide for the continued growth progress and advancement of the tribes. The WCD set aside a total of 600 acres of Restored Lands which would incorporate lands set aside previously by Tribal Resolution except for the 10 acres dedicated to use by the Rock Springs Baptist Church. The Wichita and Affiliated Tribe received 180 acres, the Caddo Tribe received 312 acres, and the Delaware received 108 acres. Title was to be transferred from all three tribes to each individual tribe. All three tribes agreed with Tribal Resolutions to this land use for individual Tribes. The Riverside Indian School was located on the property in the past. It since has been relocated and the property is now undeveloped.
