Additional Property Attributes

The armory building was cleaned up with State funding through DEQ's Site Cleanup Assistance Program. The UST was removed 12-16-93. The cleanup date used in ACRES is for the asbestos, lead-based paint, and lead dust abatement. The building is being used as a recreation center for 7th through 12th graders.

Former Use: History and knowledge of the subject property shows that the building was used as a National Guard Armory. The land was leased by the City of Muskogee to the Oklahoma Military Department (OMD) in 1976 for the purpose of constructing a National Guard Facility. The armory was constructed in the late 1970s and comprises approximately 30,000 square feet on approximately 10.0 acres. The armory was maintained and managed by the Oklahoma Military Department (OMD). The City of Muskogee is currently working on cleanup renovating the building for future use as aviation classrooms.
