Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: Based on a review of the available historical reports and interviews, the subject property had historically been used for residential purposes as early as 1890 until the mid 1900's. The property has had no structures on it since. Adjacent property to the north was used as a lumber yard from at least 1912, and also contained a bulk oil storage facility from 1931 until as late as 2001. Property west of the subject property was also used for bulk oil storage for the same time period. Surrounding properties have been used historically for a variety of light industrial and commercial purposes, as well as for railroad right-of-way. At the present time, the subject property is vacant with no permanent structures. It is currently used to store small quantities of conduit, piping and vehicles. In our research, Ayres Associates has found evidence that the property has been previously developed for residential use and more recently has been vacant or used for materials and equipment storage. According to the City of Cheyenne Building Inspection Department, the Property is zoned Community Business (CB). The general area has been developed since the turn of the century; however, an increase in commercial and industrial properties is apparent in the 1930s as surrounding dwellings were replaced by buildings associated with commercial and industrial use.
